The gameplay was a bit iffy, and that last fight really sucked. Eventually I simply had to climb out of the ice, shoot a couple guys, jump back in so my health could regenerate, and rinse and repeat.įor what could have been such a cool moment, it ended up being a significant lowpoint in my experience. It prevented me from being able to do even one stealth kill. The enemies in that encounter were able to see me seemingly through the ice layer, well before I was ever in clear view of any of the openings. Where you're supposed to use the smoke to pop up from the cracks in the ice and pull soldiers into the freezing water. I ended up having the most difficulty with that stealth ice sequence.
#Rise of tomb raider ending full
Rise of the Tomb Raider never goes full Uncharted 2, though-by the last act of the game Lara is so capable that she can even go toe-to-toe in hand-to-hand combat with the Deathless soldiers and come out pretty much unscathed. Both Uncharted and Tomb Raider wear their inspiration on their sleeves, taking liberally from Indiana Jones in respect to hiding the supernatural elements of the story as deep into the critical path as possible. I should have learned that by playing the game. Just don't tell me specifically what to do. I like that I can take the final guy down, exactly the same way as I took all the others down.

The game holds your hand with too many things during fights, but during the final fight it became too much. And when I do, don't put a huge button prompt for Y on the screen.
#Rise of tomb raider ending how to
Don't fucking tell me DODGE THIS SHIT WITH PRESSING B! because I know how to fucking do that. The final moment should have been him slicing Lara in slow motion and then let me figure out to use the mechanics I've been using all along. The entire game now, I've been countering them with the Y button. The entire game now, I've been dodging when people tried to attack me. One thing about the thing bugged me to death though: don't fucking explain basic game mechanics I've been using THE ENTIRE GAME to me during the final fight. I thought the very final fight was actually really good.

probably this haunted ipad im being forced to use at the moment. If you saw that content too, what was your take on it? I realize maybe I'm being nit-picky, so I'd like to hear the thoughts of others.Įdit: i tried to post the forum as Rise of the tomb raider, but i couldnt for some reason. But for a game that did a good job balancing all of its elements for 75% of its life, I sure do wish they would have put a little more care into the development of those last few hours. The weird spinny atlas thing that you have to climb is cool, and some of the chasing and running fun. There were parts I did like in there too, it wasn't all bad. I'm thinking specifically of the hour and change spent dealing with the multiple trebuchets from both ends, fighting the stupid helicopter (I'm seriously tired of fighting helicopters all by myself in video games), and the final boss fight which consisted of throwing an empty can of food full of explosives (why are those all over this ancient city anyway? and also, for a place nobody has seen in hundreds of years, that rope everywhere sure does look awfully new), stabbing the guy, then quick timing him to death.

I'm not talking story, I thought the story was completely ok from start to finish but after rescuing Jonah, some of the gameplay is.bad. I spent most of the day today finishing Rise of the Tomb Raider, and now that I'm finished, I'm kind of disappointed in the last 3 or so hours.
